How to Work With Different Cultures


If you view my LinkedIn profile or other social media pages, you may view me as  a “Caucasian” and often folks confuse me with my cultural back ground.   But I’m proud to be Indonesian –  Dutch >  (thank you to my parents)

I am also grateful  to have been able to work with different cultures in my career and have learned so much from others.  We have to remember to respect people and their differences no matter where they were born or the culture they come from. Ways of doing that is taking the interest in learning the values and perspectives of other cultures leading to greater tolerance and understanding.culture

  • Educate co-workers about cultural differences.  If you witness  derogatory statements about people from other cultures, chime in with your insights to increase awareness.
