School Board focus is on best practices in Education and old school learning ….but what about teaching the New Digital Age of Social Networking in Schools. Old School is still being taught in the Modern World and it surprises me that we still need so much more Education teaching Social Networking Skills…Building Positive on-line presence, and using Notebooks, iPads, Androids, IPhone’s and other devices in our Junior/Senior High School classrooms…
I hope to see some changes over the next few years on our West Coast….perhaps we can jump into the Modern World in this Digital Age of Learning…FYI – us Adults Folks need some “Modern Learning” ..we are still in Old School.
In 2011 Vancouver high schools try “BYOD” – District launches “Bring Your Own Device” pilot project > spearheaded by Audrey Van Alstyne . She adds these tools benefit some students with different learning styles. “They can take a picture of the notes if they are too slow at writing and then they can take those notes to study with them, ideally. Or they can use audio and e-mail the audio clip to the teacher.”
