Sharing an amazing experience – I have over 20+ years services in volunteer community activities that I have supported – listing only a few on my Linkedin Profile because over the years they add up rather quickly as you grow older and start putting them together . My first experience was a hostess for” Expo” back in 1986 – and that’s where it began……Volunteering can provide a healthy boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction. Another good reason to volunteer is it helps you make new friends, expand your network, and boost your social skills.
Also volunteering gives you the opportunity to practice important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, project planning, task management, and organization. I encourage young people just starting out with some simple “interest” Volunteer Activities to build your social skills….if you are shy maybe an animal shelter would be a wonderful start up experience for you – http://www.paws.org/volunteer.html
Don’t wait until tomorrow to do something good………Help Yourself While Helping Others.
NEXT EXIT – Volunteer to help others…..
